Dyson’s 2023 Global Dust Study revealed that 1 in 4 Australians suffer from seasonal pollen or mould related allergies[1]. In September, Dyson has updated its purifier range, launching two new products in Australia to help tackle the problem of indoor air pollution. The new Dyson Purifier Big+QuietTM Formaldehyde is Dyson’s quietest and most powerful purifier, projecting air over 10 metres, to purify large spaces.2 The new purifier captures allergens and 99.95% of ultrafine particles3 and destroys formaldehyde, permanently.4 In addition, Dyson have also released a Dyson Purifier Cool™ Formaldehyde. This machine captures 99.95% of particles down to 0.1 microns3, including pollen, dust and mould, helping to create a cleaner and more comfortable indoor environment year-round. Whether you’re in an apartment or a large home, there’s a Dyson purifier for you.
Key features for people with asthma and allergies:
- Whole-Machine HEPA: All Dyson machines are whole machine sealed to HEPA H13 grade filtration7, capturing 99.95% of dust, allergens and other ultrafine pollutants3, so what goes inside, stays inside. Asthma and allergy sufferers can rest assured that dirty pollutants aren’t leaking out of the machine and further impacting air quality.
- 3 x more NO₂ capture: Our most advanced version of the Dyson Big+QuietTM Formaldehyde also absorbs 3x more NO₂ than our standard filter.
- Whole Room Purification: Dyson purifiers are tested using the POLAR method, reflecting a real-world environment, and projecting cleaner air to every corner of the room.
- Proof of Cleaner Air: Dyson purifiers sense and report air quality data via an LCD screen and the MyDysonTM App, allowing individuals to understand pollution patterns and identify possible sources and triggers within their home.
Dyson Purifier Cool™ Formaldehyde:
- Captures 99.95% of particles down to 0.1 microns3, including pollen and dust mould, helping to create a cleaner and more comfortable indoor environment year-round.
- The Dyson Purifier CoolTM Formaldehyde detects and destroys formaldehyde continuously.9 All whilst keeping you cool. Formaldehyde is a colourless gas that can be released by DIY products, as well as new furniture or carpets.
- The Dyson Purifier Cool™ Formaldehyde has Air MultiplierTM technology to purify the whole room.
Dyson Purifier Big+QuietTM Formaldehyde:
- The machine projects air over 10 metres, to purify large spaces, quietly.2 The new purifier only machine captures allergens and 99.95% of ultrafine particles.3 Destroys formaldehyde, permanently.4
- It is Dyson’s quietest and most powerful purifier, using cone aerodynamics to deliver powerful, long-range projection – circulating air and driving distant pollutants back through sealed filters. For whole-room purification, even in large spaces.5
[1]33,997 online interviews across a representative sample of 39 countries. Fieldwork was conducted between 11th January and 6th February 2023. Data has been weighted at a ‘Global’ level to be representative of different population sizes. The Dyson 2022 Global Dust Study included Russia and Norway but these markets were removed in 2023. The following markets were new to the 2023 study and did not participate in previous years: Finland, Greece, Cxechia, Romania, Hungary, Israel, Saudia Arabia, South Africa, Indonesia.
2 The ability of purifying a large room up to 100m2 (10m*10m) proven from a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling, with the purifier placed in a corner of the room running at the maximum flow and horizontal projection reaching 10 metres to fully mix the room. The projection distance was measured from internal flow reach testing under the maximum directional airflow. The actual performance in real life condition may vary.
3 Tested for filtration efficiency at 0.1 microns (EN1822, ISO29364).
4 Third party full machine testing based on GB/T 18801-2022 formaldehyde cumulative clean mass testing with continuous injection until plateau of formaldehyde CADR is achieved. Results may vary in practice.
5 Based on Dyson purifier’s HEPA filtration performance challenged against ISO 29463, its ability of purifying a large room up to 100m2 (10m*10m) was proven from a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling by Dyson, with the purifier placed in a corner of the room running at the maximum flow and horizontal projection reaching 10 metres to fully mix the room. The projection distance of 10 metres was measured from internal flow and room humidity 60%. The actual performance in real life condition may vary depending on air inflow and outflow.
6 Gas capture rates may vary.
7 Particle challenge by DEHS oil specified in EN1822 within a chamber specified in ASTM F3150. Tested in Max Mode at IBR US, for whole machine efficiency above 99.95%.
8 In maximum setting. Tested for air projection, purification coverage in a 81m3 room.
9 Third party full machine testing based on GB/T 18801-2015 formaldehyde cumulative clean mass testing with continuous injection until plateau of formaldehyde CADR is achieved. Results may vary in practice.
